Daffodils laugh in the face of snow. Really.  If you lean over closely, you can hear them.  It’s hard to think about spring when you wake up to snow on the ground.  But it won’t be around for long.

Blooming things = spring, weed or not.  Sign of Spring #4….done!  You can click on any of these images to make them bigger.  Enjoy and have faith it will get warmer!

  1. I love this. Daffodils are my favorite spring flower. They make me happy looking at them. I get giddy when I pick them and feel and hear the little stretch before they snap, and love putting huge bunches of them in vases around the house, because they are still an endless bounty throughout our woods. “I wandered lonely as a cloud, that floats on high o’er dales and hills. When all at once, I saw a crowd: a host of golden daffodils.” I start reciting this every spring when I see the first bunch.

    • Great line, Marla. I just picked the first tiny little bunch out of our garden. They’re the miniature variety, so they’re in a very little vase on our dining room table.
